Laura Scheer, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist and Owner
I’ve been an Occupational Therapist (OT) since 1998 when I graduated from the University of North Dakota. I started my career living and working in South Dakota, providing therapy in long term care as well as hospital-based acute care and in-patient rehabilitation with adults. In 2005, my family and I moved back to Minnesota where I spent 17 years providing school-based OT services, autism consultation/support, and evaluation for children ages birth to 21. In addition to my OT degree, I received my Autism Spectrum Disorders Certification in 2005 and in 2006, my Master’s Degree in Special Education.
I have a wide range of experience in working with children, families, and as a collaborative team member to serve children of all ability levels with a variety of diagnoses including: trisomy 21/Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, brain abnormalities, autism spectrum disorders, prematurity, spina bifida, ADHD/ADD, emotional/behavioral disorders, trauma, seizure disorders, muscle disease, developmental cognitive delays, cortical visual impairments, encephalopathy, and genetic disorders.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, 4 girls, and our dog Cash. Even though our oldest two are adults, life hasn’t slowed down a bit! You can find us at softball games or the lake in the summer, tennis and cross country in the fall, and Powder Ridge and wrestling in the winter. I also spend my time volunteering at our church and scrapbooking with friends.
I’m excited to meet you and your family and am honored to have the opportunity to work together as we learn new skills, build relationships, and play!
